Sky Views Observatory Dubai Review: Tickets, Glass Slide & Honest Experience

Sky Views Observatory had been on my list for a while. When we planned our next holiday to Dubai, I told my husband that this time we have to go. I had seen the glass floor and slide many times online, and I was curious if it would feel as exciting in real life.
We booked it during our trip and tried the observatory and the glass slide. We didn’t do the Edge Walk.
Based on my own experience, I’ll tell you exactly how it works, how much it costs, what each part feels like, and whether it’s really worth your time.

What You Can Do at Sky Views Observatory
1. The Observatory (Glass Walk)
This was the highlight for us. When you enter the observatory area, the first thing you see is the transparent glass floor in front of you.

You can clearly see the road far below. I hesitated for a second before stepping on it. My husband encouraged me, and we even filmed ourselves walking across.
Standing on a glass floor 219 meters above the ground feels different from how it looks in photos. It gives you a real adrenaline moment. It’s not something you experience every day, and that’s exactly what makes it special.
The 360-degree view is clear and open. You can walk around, take photos, and stay as long as you want. No one rushes you here.
If you only choose one part of the experience, I would choose this.
2. The Glass Slide
The glass slide connects levels 53 and 52. You sit on a mat and slide down a short, transparent tunnel outside the building.
Now here’s my honest opinion.

The long queue moved fast, which at first felt positive. But we quickly realized why. They send people one after another very quickly. There’s no time to take pictures or videos before sliding.
The slide itself is short, about 3.5 meters. It’s not scary. It’s not extreme. It felt more like a fun add-on than a main attraction.
Also, you must slide with your handbag or backpack, which makes it slightly awkward. I’m happy I tried it. But it wasn’t the best part as I expected. And definitely not as the Instagrammable pictures of people you see standing on the glass under the slide.
3. Edge Walk
The Edge Walk is the most extreme option. You walk outside the tower with no glass barrier, secured in a harness.
We didn’t try it this time, but we really would like to do it next time.
It includes:
- Full safety briefing
- Protective overalls
- Professional supervision
If you like height, this is the real adrenaline experience here.
Ticket Prices
Prices may change, but at the time of writing:
- Observatory + 1 Glass Slide: From 89 AED per adult. From 69 AED for a child under 12
- Additional slide: extra fee
- Edge Walk (includes Observatory and slide): 499 AED
I recommend booking in advance, especially during high season. It saves time and avoids ticket desk queues.

Best Time to Visit
Sky Views is open year-round. However, here’s what we experienced:
We visited in December in the early afternoon. It was very crowded. The observatory was fine, but the slide area felt rushed.

If you want a calmer experience:
- Go early in the morning when it opens
- Avoid peak winter afternoons
- Avoid sunset if you don’t like crowds
Summer has fewer tourists, but it can be hot doing the Edge Walk.
Is Sky Views Observatory Worth It?
Yes, overall, it is worth visiting.
The glass walk was the best part for us. You get wide views of the city, with Burj Khalifa right next to you, and walking on the glass floor at that height gives you a small adrenaline rush.

The glass slide was shorter and more rushed than we expected, but I’m still happy we tried it. And I would still like to come back and do the Edge Walk one day.
If I did it again, I would choose the low season and go early in the morning. That way, you can enjoy the experience properly without being rushed.
Sky Views Dubai Review: FAQs
How long does the visit take?
Plan around 1 to 2 hours for the observatory and glass slide, depending on crowds and how long you stay upstairs taking photos.
If you choose the Edge Walk, it will take longer because there is a safety briefing, preparation time, and the walk itself.
Is the Glass Slide scary?
Not really. It’s short and smooth. It looks more dramatic in photos than it feels in reality.
When is the best time to go?
Morning opening hours during the low season are the best time to go due to fewer queues.
